General X-ray and Dental

What is an X-ray?

Radiography is the imaging of body structures, or parts of the body, using X-rays. X-rays are a type of radiation (X-radiation) similar to visible light, radio waves and microwaves.

X-radiation is special because it has a very high energy level that allows the X-ray beam to pass through the body and make an image or picture. X-rays are a very useful tool in diagnosing and treating medical conditions.

What is an OPG?

An orthopantomogram (OPG) is a panoramic X-ray of the teeth and jaw. It is used in the assessment of teeth, jaw bones and joints.
