What types of services are provided?

  • offers a range of therapies (such as physiotherapy and occupational therapy), using a low intensity approach, to help achieve your goals
  • provides assistance with personal care and nursing support as required
  • provides time for you to make choices about your future care.

How long can I stay on the program?

The length of your program will depend on your progress during STARS and your individual care needs. Your progress is reviewed regularly whilst you are on the program. If you require ongoing supports at the end of the program, we will discuss longer term care with you.

What if I’m already receiving services through a different program?

You are a SALHN inpatient while part of the STARS program, therefore you cannot receive other services during this time. We will assist you to re-engage with any of your existing services at the time of discharge back to the community.

Who pays for STARS program services?

STARS is a public hospital program. There is no cost for you to access this program.
