Modbury Hospital Health Precinct
The start of early site works for the $117 million capital works redevelopment at Modbury Hospital marks an exciting and historic milestone for this significant project.
The build includes a $92 million facility for a new 24-bed Mental Health Rehabilitation Unit and a 20-bed Older Persons Mental Health Unit to be relocated from Lyell McEwin Hospital. Office and staff facilities are included along with dedicated mental health outpatient rooms for consumers to access assessment therapy to support wellbeing and recovery.
Draft concept designs now available include 3D visualisations of specially designed living spaces for daily activities in the mental health units to support therapeutic care and recovery.
The concept designs are the result of broad consultation, including workshops, working groups, forums and specific end user design groups involving various key stakeholders, expert clinicians, staff, including those with lived experience of mental health concerns, consumers and carers.
Also included in the new building will be a new $25 million Modbury Hospital Cancer Centre.
A new multi-level carpark will be delivered as part of the hospital precinct redevelopment to provide additional parking for staff and increase accessibility for patients.
