Nurse-led clinics at Gumeracha and Strathalbyn

Gumeracha District Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital and the Strathalbyn and District Health Service provide care for people living in the region through nurse-led clinics. 

The nurse-led clinic provides the local community timely access to urgent, non-emergency care, including access to virtual medical support when required.

This is not an emergency service. In the case of a life-threatening illness or injury, ring 000 or attend your closest emergency department:

We have two convenient locations:

  • Gumeracha District Soldiers' Memorial Hospital
    2 Albert Street, Gumeracha
  • Strathalbyn and District Health Service
    14 Alfred Place, Strathalbyn

Both of our clinics operate seven days a week with the following hours:

  • Monday to Friday, 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm
  • weekends and public holidays, 9:00 am to 4:00 pm

Our clinics offer a range of services, including but not limited to:

  • common colds
  • COVID
  • conjunctivitis
  • cuts, abrasions, bruises and burns
  • gastroenteritis, simple
  • influenza
  • sinusitis
  • skin conditions
  • sick certificates
  • simple limb injuries
  • tetanus boosters, if needed for injuries
  • tonsillitis
  • urinary tract infections.

We encourage you to call ahead to speak with a nurse for advice or to schedule a visit. This helps us ensure that we can provide the best possible care during your visit.

Yes, our nursing staff have access to virtual medical support to consult with a doctor if necessary. This ensures that you receive comprehensive care and expert advice even for more complex issues.

Our clinics do not provide treatment for the following:

  • time-critical and/or life-threatening illnesses or injuries
  • motor vehicle accidents
  • paediatric services for children under 10 years old
  • mental health issues
  • drug and alcohol-related services.

No, our services are free of charge for Medicare-card holders. We aim to provide accessible and high-quality care to the community without any cost.
