Emergency Department at Noarlunga Hospital

The Emergency Department (ED) provides emergency services to the southern area, treating approximately 43,000 people a year.

The Noarlunga Hospital ED is open 24 hours, seven days a week and 24 hour x-ray and pathology facilities are available on site.

There is a dedicated space for children and families which aims at making children feel more comfortable.

Our ED team consists of medical officers, registered and enrolled nurses, clerical staff and client support staff. Access to Noarlunga Emergency Mental Health is also available in the ED.

When you arrive at the emergency department you will be seen by the duty nurse to collect information and assess your illness or injury. All patients are triaged as per the Australasian triage scoring process.

More seriously ill patients are transferred to the nearest major hospital, Flinders Medical Centre at Bedford Park.
