The Barossa Hills Fleurieu Local Health Network Board

The Barossa Hills Fleurieu Local Health Network covers the regions including the Adelaide Hills, Kangaroo Island, Fleurieu Peninsula and Barossa areas. This includes the townships of Gawler, Tanunda, Angaston, Eudunda, Kapunda, Mount Pleasant, Gumeracha, Mount Barker, Mallala, Goolwa, Cape Jervis, Normanville, Yankalilla, Strathalbyn, Victor Harbor, Kingscote and Nuriootpa.

The governing board is responsible and accountable to the Minister for Health and Wellbeing for local decision making. The role of the Barossa Hills Fleurieu Local Health Network governing board will include setting strategies and priorities for health services in the region, as well as ensuring the LHN achieves the performance indicators in its Service Agreement.

Chair - Jim Hazel

Jim Hazel has extensive experience in the banking and finance sector and significant skills as a Board Chair across multiple organisations and was a Managing Director of a publicly listed aged care developer and provider.

Pru Blackwell

Pru Blackwell has been the Presiding Member of the Gawler District Health Advisory Council since 2009. She has also held the roles of Director, Community Services, and Manager, Aged and Disability Services, at the City of Salisbury.

Judy Curran

Judy Curran has a long human services career, leading major NGO’s including Australian Red Cross, scosa, the Spastic Centres of South Australia and Can:Do Group in Chief Executive roles. As a Board Director she has served many organisations, including Mary MacKillop Care, the Supported Community Accommodation Public Corporation and is currently Deputy Chair, Minda Inc. She is currently Director TAFESA.

Professor Jeff Fuller

Emeritus Professor Jeffrey Fuller has worked for over 30 years in Australian primary health care with a major focus on rural health, Indigenous health, integrated care and chronic disease management. Since retirement as the Associate Dean Research in the School of Nursing & Midwifery, Flinders University, he has become more involved in local, regional and national health committees.   

Carol Gaston AM

Carol Gaston started her professional life as a nurse and has experience working in the Victorian, Western Australian and South Australian health systems.

Greg Russell

During a long career Greg held senior roles in the aviation industry and in major Australian  companies.
