Cruising Cuttlefish wins seniors’ photo competition

30 September 2022

A stunning photograph of a Giant Australian Cuttlefish has taken out the top prize in the 2022 Seniors Card Through the Lens photographic competition.

The image titled ‘Cruising’ was taken by Seniors Card member, Ian Patterson, in Point Lowly near Whyalla at a depth of three metres.

The winning photo was chosen from more than 700 entries and will feature on the cover of the 2023 Seniors Card Discount Directory, Your Lifestyle Guide.

Through the Lens is Office for Ageing Well’s annual photographic competition for Seniors Card members, which showcases and celebrates the skills and creativity of older South Australians.

In the lead up to International Day of Older Persons on 1 October, photography winners in six categories were announced at an exclusive launch event held at the City Library last night, and include:

Portrait – RIP Micky – Liz Daniels
Active ageing – Senior Swans – Suzanne Opitz

Finalists and winners in each of the categories will have their work featured in the Through the Lens exhibition at the City Library throughout October.
