Accident and emergency services

Services are provided 24 hours a day, seven days per week. The accident and emergency department are an extension of the Waikerie Medical Centre and services provided by private GP’s. Charges apply as charged by the doctor. You will need to discuss the charges directly with the doctor at the time

Hospital services

General medical and surgical care includes:

  • basic x-ray, 
  • inpatient
  • obstetrics
  • orthopaedic surgery
  • GP surgery
  • outpatient
  • same day stays.

Maternity services

Birthing services at Waikerie Health Service are temporarily suspended due to unexpected staff shortages. Waikerie Health Service currently still offer shared care antenatal and postnatal services to local maternity patients. Residential aged care

Waikerie Health Service offers high care residential aged care facilities at the adjoining Waikerie Multi Purpose Service. All potential residents must have a current ACAT assessment. For further information please contact the Nurse Unit Manager – Residential on 8541 0521

Community health services

The Riverland Community Health Service provides a range of services and programs, including in-home care, from five sites in the Riverland. These are coordinated and only accessed through referral via Riverland Country Health Connect at Berri for eligible clients.
