Disability Services

Visit the Department of Human Services Disability Services for disability and specialist supports to help people with disability, their families and carers access services and assistance that support independence, safety and wellbeing.

National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)

The NDIS provides funding to eligible people with disability to gain more time with family and friends, greater independence, access to new skills, jobs, or volunteering in their community, and an improved quality of life. The NDIS also connects anyone with disability to services in their community.

Intellectual Disability Health Service

The South Australian Intellectual Disability Health Service (SAIDHS) is a state-wide, specialised health service funded by SA Health. SAIDHS provides medical and mental health care for adults with diagnosed intellectual disability and complex needs.

Rehabilitation services

If you have had a major illness, injury or surgery, you may find it difficult to return to the way you previously lived. Whether it’s your mobility, ability to communicate or wellbeing that is affected, rehabilitation can help you to be more independent. 

SA Health’s rehabilitation services provide a range of care and recovery options. Health professionals with different areas of expertise work with you based on your individual needs, and help you to establish realistic rehabilitation goals.
