SA Intellectual Disability Health Service
Introduction to SA Intellectual Disability Health Service (SAIDHS) services and resources
The South Australian Intellectual Disability Health Service (SAIDHS), formerly known as the Centre for Disability Health, is a state-wide, specialised health service funded by SA Health. SAIDHS provides medical and mental health care for adults with diagnosed intellectual disability and complex needs. Complex needs may include autism, mental illness, behaviour or communication issues and other complexities which have been difficult to manage in community services, such as GP and community mental health services.
The SA Intellectual Disability Health Service (SAIDHS) is unable to provide emergency/crisis support.
If you have an injury or illness which is critical or life threatening, you should go to your nearest Emergency Department or call triple zero (000) for an ambulance immediately.
If you are experiencing a mental health crisis or emergency, contact the Mental Health Triage Service on 13 14 65.
