NALHN’s Mental Health Medical Team

Our medical staff work in a wide variety of settings including inpatient, community and specialist areas.

NALHN’s Division of Mental Health is built upon caring and supportive multi-disciplinary teams that include staff from a wide range of disciplines including medical, nursing and allied health professionals.

Our medical team includes consultant psychiatrists, doctors, psychiatric medical officers, registrars and resident medical officers undertaking three-month placements. Our psychiatrists diagnose, manage and care for people with mental illnesses while taking a holistic approach to all aspects of a person’s life and their situation. We have doctors at various levels of training who work directly under the supervision of our psychiatrists to support the provision of the best quality care.

There are opportunities to work in a wide variety of settings including inpatient, community and specialist work in emergency, youth, adult, old age, forensic, perinatal psychiatry and a growing number of emerging programs such as Hospital in the Home.

At NALHN we believe that everyone has a story, everyone matters, everyone contributes, and everyone grows.
