Ama Hood - Team Manager

There are plenty of professional development and career progression opportunities at NALHN. Since moving here from England, I’ve been able to work in various teams, including Adult, Forensic and the Perinatal Mental Health teams, and this has progressed my professional development into my current team manager role.

Mental Health nurses play a critical role in supporting clients with a strong focus on recovery and quality of life through the development of strategies to ensure quality care that continues to improve the mental health outcomes for our north and north-eastern community. Mental Health nurses at NALHN recognise that good care requires a holistic approach that looks at mental, physical and social health factors. Our nurses are supported to embrace a lifelong learning culture the recognises the need for reflective practice and ongoing improvement.

At NALHN we believe that everyone has a story, everyone matters, everyone contributes, and everyone grows.
