Modbury Hospital is a key teaching hospital in Adelaide’s north-eastern suburbs, providing high-quality inpatient, outpatient and emergency care to a diverse and growing community. The hospital delivers a broad range of services including general medicine and surgery, elective and same-day surgery, rehabilitation, aged care and palliative care, with a strong focus on supporting older persons and sub-acute care. It also features a 24-hour Emergency Department and expanding specialist services, including mental health and cancer care. Northern Mental Health Services provides comprehensive, recovery-focused mental health care across Adelaide’s northern region, supporting consumers across inpatient, community and outpatient settings. Services include acute and sub-acute inpatient care, community mental health teams, crisis assessment and treatment services, and specialist programs for older persons, youth and culturally diverse populations. As part of the Northern Adelaide Local Health Network, the service is committed to person-centred care, early intervention and multidisciplinary collaboration. Program information
Rotation structure
The general NALHN RN TPPP comprises two six-month rotations (12-month program).
We strive to provide you a minimum of one of your preferred specialties/ward preferences. The Mental Health Specialisation TPPP comprises three six-month rotations (18-month program). The first rotation the TPPP is allocated to a general medical or surgical ward. The second and third rotations the TPPP is allocated to a Mental Health in alignment with the Adelaide University Mental Health Graduate Certificate.
Orientation and supernumerary days
Start strong with a comprehensive orientation, including dedicated nursing and ward-based induction, plus supernumerary days at the beginning of each rotation so you can learn, settle in and hit the ground running.
Preceptorship, peer and clinical support
You’ll never feel alone. Our strong support network will surround you. From preceptors and clinical buddies on every shift to our dedicated TPPP Support Team, expert guidance is always within reach. With “at elbow” support available 7 days a week, you’ll be backed by experienced and dedicated support nurses who are invested in your success.
Professional development days
Grow your skills through five structured professional development days, along with access to targeted education sessions, online learning and regular debrief opportunities to support your wellbeing and development.
