We have a variety of internal and external grant opportunities throughout the year.

The 2024 SALHN Enquiry Grant Round

In collaboration with our major partner, The Hospital Research Foundation Group (THRFG), SALHN is pleased to announce the following projects have been funded through the 2024 SALHN Enquiry Grant Round:

  • Laura Cooper - Patient journey mapping to enhance access and delivery of SALHN community-based airway clearance services for people with chronic respiratory disease.
  • Associate Professor Savio George Barreto - Implementation of a supportive care navigation tool for people diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.
  • Dr Sophie Plagakis - Reducing the pain of intravesical BCG for bladder cancer: pilot randomised clinical trial.
  • JoAnne McIntyre - Research culture in intensive care units in Australia and New Zealand – a binational survey of intensive care nurses (CLARITY).
  • Helen Mangahas & Alexandra Day - Aphasia-friendly meal ordering system/menus.
  • Dr Lauren Priest - Key risk factors for severe behavioural and psychological symptoms of dementia: An Australasian perspective.
  • Amanda Luke - A prospective single arm interventional quality improvement project measuring the effect of structured Point-of care Ultrasound (POCUS) education on complication free cannulation rates in the Flinders Medical Centre dialysis unit.
  • Professor Bogda Koczwara - Stress, allostatic load, and comorbidity in cancer survivors.
  • Bob Harrington - Enhancing healthcare experiences for Aboriginal patients through health journey mapping: A comprehensive evaluation.
  • Dr Tamina Levy - Implementing the adherence counselling toolkit in a stroke follow-up clinic; a pilot feasibility randomised clinical trial.
  • Natalie Knight - Getting back on track with communication – A pilot study of early support speech pathology for patients who have a tracheostomy.
  • Dr Suzanne Dawson - A process and outcomes evaluation of the implementation of ‘My Home Life’: a program to improve service culture and care practices for people living with dementia.
