Performance framework and key performance indicators

The SA Health Performance Framework (PDF 928KB) outlines the structure by which the Department for Health and Wellbeing (DHW) monitors, assesses and responds to the performance of public sector health services in South Australia. The Framework aims to promote transparency and encourage a shared accountability for performance improvement across the system.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) have been established and performance targets and thresholds have been determined. The Framework uses these KPIs to monitor the extent to which the high-level objectives set out in the Service Agreement are being delivered. These KPIs are outlined in relevant Definition Documents.
