Clinical Academics Enterprise Agreement
On 17 September 2024, formal negotiations commenced for a new enterprise agreement to replace the SA Health Clinical Academics Enterprise Agreement 2024 (PDF 1.9MB) which nominally expired on 2 February 2025.
A Clinical Academic is a specialist registered by the Medical Board of Australia, who is employed by a University as a Professor, Associate Professor, Senior Lecturer or Lecturer in the faculty of Health Sciences and also employed by the employing authority as a Clinical Academic.
Process for negotiations
As required as part of the Fair Work Act 1994 (SA), a Notice of Intention to Bargain (the Notice) was issued on 3 September 2024. The Notice identified the employees who are proposed to be covered by the new enterprise agreement and their right to representation. Employees can be represented by an employee association under the Fair Work Act 1994 (SA) or an agent of their choice.
Negotiations for a new Agreement are underway, with the Government presenting its initial offer to the South Australian Salaried Medical Officers Association (SASMOA) on 19 June 2025.
Further progress updates on bargaining will be published on this webpage.
