Barossa Region

There are 34 confirmed cases linked to areas within the Barossa region including Tanunda, Nuriootpa, Williamstown, Angaston and Lyndoch.

Anyone in these areas from Saturday 14 March 2020 who develops symptoms should immediately self- isolate and be tested.

Travel in or out of these towns should now be limited and any non-essential travel within the region is discouraged. Anyone attending work should adhere to social distancing guidelines and working from home is encouraged.

A dedicated COVID-19 testing clinic will open at Tanunda War Memorial Hospital on Monday 30 March for people in the region with symptoms of COVID-19.

Specific Venues

We are urging members of the public who attended the following venues visited by a potentially infectious tour group, to monitor themselves for symptoms, and isolate and seek testing if symptoms develop.

  • Calabria Family Wines Barossa Valley and Harvest Kitchen Restaurant, on 14 March from 12:00-4:00pm
  • Upstairs at Hollick Restaurant in Penola, on 15 March from 1:30-3:30pm
  • Barn Steakhouse, Mount Gambier, on 15 March, 7:30 onwards.
  • Lyndoch Hill Winery and Chateau on or following 14 March 2020.  Guests who attended a wedding at the venue on Friday 20 March are advised to quarantine until 4 April, monitor for symptoms and to get tested if symptoms develop.

  • Virgin Australia and SAPOL have been unable to provide the contact details of around 40 people who were travelling on Virgin Australia Flight VA428 on Thursday 19 March, departing Sydney at 4.10pm and arriving in Adelaide at 6.00pm.

This flight is linked to passengers disembarking from a cruise ship in Sydney and we are encouraging anyone who hasn’t been contacted by Communicable Disease and Control Branch (CDCB)  are advised to quarantine until 3 April, monitor for symptoms and to get tested if symptoms develop.
